A problem that has appeared for several people with update of Magento has been that the ‘Browse’ and ‘Upload’ buttons have been missing from Images section of a product creation. The most common cause of this problem is not having the latest flash player installed, or having other vital flash files missing from the installation. I don’t really know why this needs to be flash in the first place, surely a simple HTML upload form is just as effective, and more widely accessible.

I found a plugin that replaces the Flash Uploader with HTML. Known as the ‘Dull Uploader’, the plugin works perfectly straight away and is compatible with Version 1.4.0.0.
