New Favicon Upload

Posted on: 1st Mar 2011 By: Robert Kent No Comments

Some of you more experienced Magento developers may have realised that in recent times Magento has given us the ability to upload our favicon in the admin section. Back in the days of yore we were limited to uploading manually to about 50 different locations (old favicon upload method).

Now with a simple browse and click of a button we can set the favicon for our stores.

Just navigate to System>Configuration>Design>HTML head and you’ll see a nice upload form. This change seems to have come in with the 1.4.2 release of magento.

It seems magento are taking a bit more pressure off us developers – giving the customer the ability to change their favicon is one less headache for us.

Thanks for visiting the E-commerce Web Design Magento Blog – home of the Magento Fox! I’ve been great!
